We are Erik and Kerri Collins.  We have been married 14 years and have two beautiful children.  Jonah is 7 years old and in the second grade and Anslee is 5 years old and is in kindergarten.  God began leading us to adopt several years ago after the birth of Anslee.  We began praying about it but didn't feel God was telling us it was the right time.  A few years later, we were sitting around our lunch table when Jonah asked us what an orphan was.  I began to explain that orphans are children who have no parents to care for them and no home to call their own.  Jonah said, "Mama, we have a home".  My heart sank.  Yes we DID have a home that God blessed us with.  Then Jonah said, "I want to bring one home."  I did not have any words. God spoke to us through our sweet child!  Erik and I talked about it that afternoon and began to earnestly pray that God would show us what He wanted us to do.  We prayed for a while about it without saying anything to anyone.  Then God led me to a verse in Esther.  It was Esther Chapter 4 where Mordecai was explaining to Esther that she was brought into the kingdom for "such a time as this".  I knew God was speaking to me and telling me it was time!  I talked with Erik about it and he wanted to pray some more about it.  He did...for several LONG days :).  Erik then revealed to me that God confirmed to him that adopting is what He wanted us to do and now was the time!  PTL!!!  We stepped out in faith and God has been with us every step of the way!  God is so good!! We praise Him and are incredibly humbled that He has called us to do such an awesome thing!
